Mumbai: As the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is set to adopt its new uniform, the right-wing bloc on Monday began selling it at the RSS headquarters in Maharashtra’s Nagpur city.

In March last, the RSS had announced that it would replace its trademark knickers with khaki trousers. The announcement was made at an annual meeting of Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha, the organisation's highest decision making body.

Other highlights:

  • RSS will formally adopt the new uniform on its Foundation Day (October 11).
  • The group has been using the knickers as a part of its uniform for 91 long years.
