Islamabad: Pakistan authorities who have faced the wrath of India and some other countries for providing shelter to leaders of terror outfits, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e- Mohammed, have been now confronted with its media.

Some newspaper has asked questions as why actions are not being taken against them. The authorities do not hesitate to take action against the media but they leave them alone, though it is they who should bear the brunt.

It may be recalled that only a few days ago a journalist who reported that there was a rift between the army and the government over some issues was asked not to leave the country for the story.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s high commissioner in India Abdul Basit claimed that all reports and statements suggesting that India had launched a surgical strike against terror camps across the Line of Control were motivated and false.

“Tape, evidence and claim of Dr. Ayesha Siddiqa, a Pakistani civilian military scientist, that there was surgical strike in Pak-occupied-Kashmir are figment of imagination’’,he said.

Denying reports of strike he maintained had there been this kind of strike Pak army would have retaliated and given a befitting reply. “There was of course ceasefire violation by Indian army which led to killing of two soldiers”, he claimed.

The SAARC submit has been only postponed and not cancelled. It will be held sometime later and chaired by Pakistan, he informed.
