New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday rejected to entertain the plea of Payal Abdullah, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s estranged wife, seeking retention of the official accommodation provided to her at 7, Akbar Road.

The High Court has directed her to vacate the bungalow. Payal, however, refused moving out of the bungalow and urged the court to pass an order in this connection.

It may be mentioned that Payal has been residing in the bungalow with her two kids since 1999.

“A detailed order will be passed and a time will be given within which Payal and her kids will have to vacate the bungalow,” said a bench consisting of Justice Indermeet Kaur.

Other highlights:

  • Payal was also asked to move out of the house by a trial court on August 16 last.
  • She wanted the court to provide her family with an alternative accommodation in view of their security status.
  • The court also noted that the family will be provided with security by Delhi police.
  • The family has been a Z and Z plus protectee while residing at the Akbar Road Bungalow.
