Srinagar: Three Indian Army jawans on Wednesday martyred in a gunfight with the terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. One civilian also lost his life in gun battle.

Few also sustained injuries as the the holed up terrorists fired at security forces in Wani Mohalla of Kulgam district.

Protests have broken out near the gun battle site. A protester, identified as Sharjeel Sheikh, 28, who sustained a bullet injury, have succumbed at a hospital, the sources said.

Two-to-three LeT militants were still holed up inside a house.

Authorities have ordered closure of all schools and colleges in Kulgam and Internet services have been suspended.
