When Sridevi inscribed hubby Boney’s name on her back in Lucknow

Lucknow: Veteran actress Sridevi, 54, passed away in Dubai, plunging the entire country into a pall of gloom as her fans and admirers expressed shock and disbelief. The veteran actress also had a Lucknow connection.

Sridevi had attended Boron Puja and Sindoor Khela in the city of nawabs where she was accompanied by her husband and filmmaker Boney Kapoor. The 'English Vinglish' actor also inscribed her hubby's name with sindoor on her back as the custom of the festival.

She wore a traditional red and white Bengali sari in the Durga Puja celebration at the Sahara Shahar pandal in 2013.

"This is my first Durga Puja and I have enjoyed it immensely," Sridevi had said.

The actress breathed her last on Saturday night at around 11 p.m. She was rushed to the nearby Rashid Hospital but pronounced dead on admission.

Her body is expected to be flown to Mumbai via a special chartered flight on Sunday evening for the last rites but the timings were not confirmed yet, according to official sources.

Sridevi was in Dubai to attend the marriage function of actress Sonam Kapoor's cousin Mohit Marwah, along with husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi.
