Lucknow: Breaking his silence on the issue of alliance , Uttar Pradesh Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has admitted to having met Congress poll strategist Prashant Kishor (PK) and claimed his party would alone get majority in the next assembly polls in the state and if alliance took place the ruling Samajwadi Party would get 300 seats .

'' Even in the absence of alliance , the SP is equipped enough to gain majority but in the case of alliance , the seat tally may reach 300 mark,'' he said on Wednesday while speaking at a private news channel event.

A lot of dilly dallying had taken place before Akhilesh agreed to meet PK but he was all praise for him and said he had earlier met the party Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav. The UP CM, though, did not appear to be committal about the alliance but did not rule it out either. Some of these parties who have earlier been in alliance with SP had desired to be with the SP this time, he said adding nothing was in the stage of finality.

Akhilesh said in the event of alliance, other parties would also stand gainer if they came with SP.
