Sahara chief parole extended following undertaking given to SC

New Delhi: The supreme Court on Thursday extended the parole of Sahara Chief Subrata Roy following an undertaking given by him to deposit Rs 1500 crores by middle of June in the Refund Account opened to return the money to investors.

The extension was given with a warning that if this amount was not deposited by June 15 he will be sent to jail again on June 19.

Roy gave the undertaking himself when he appeared in the Court in compliance with the last order.

He has given a road-map for the payment. While he will deposit in SEBI-Sahara account Rs 1500 crores by June 15. another sum of Rs 552.22 crores will credit to the account a month later.

Roy was released on bail in May last following death of his mother. He has been out of jail since then, getting one extension after the other.
