Checking misuse of social media is biggest challenge: UP DGP

LUCKNOW, Admitting the fact that phenomenon of recruitment of terrorist organization through social media existed, Uttar Pradesh newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP) Javeed Ahmad said that it was the duty of police to prevent gullible youths of the state from getting misled.

Amidst receiving bouquets from the well wishers Mr Ahmad, gave Newztrack.com a quick and an exclusive interview after taking the charge of UP’s top cop.

Newly appointed DGP, during the closet of the interview accepted the fact that restricting the recruitment of terrorist organizations through the most used platform ‘social media’ was a major challenge not just for him but also for the society and he would try his best to restrict it to the null.

“With every passing day a score of people adds up to the usage of social media for different reasons that includes entertainment, so the terrorist organization has found social media to brainwash and recruit for their distinguished organization, so restricting them is really a challenge for the entire police system,” said DGP.

When asked on the issue of growing fear and insecurity amongst the minorities, he said that the condition in Uttar Pradesh was much better than other states quoting the latest released reports of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). Adding he said that people from every walk of life and every segment will have to come together to end the sense of insecurity among the section.

On a query of making Police people-friendly, Mr Ahmad said that he would try his best for the cause and would ask his system to listen to the problems of public and chalk out the solution on priority.
