PM Narendra Modi likely to visit Varanasi on Jan 22

VARANASI, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit his parliamentary constituency on January 22 to distribute artificial limbs and other equipments to 8,000 handicapped people.

District Magistrate Rajmani Yadav here said that their office has got the information of an expected tour of Modi from the Prime Minister Office and now they have started the preparation for the same. Added he said that they would soon finalize the venue for the programme and preference for holding the programme was being given to Diesel Rail Coach Workshop ground of the city.

Yadav also said that, Prime Minister would be gifting artificial limbs, hearing aids and other equipments to over 7766 handicapped persons, which in itself would be a world record. Modi would be gifting the aids to some of them personally while the aids would be given to other handicapped by the district administration in a day or two. He adds.

The aid is being given to the people with the help of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, said Yadav.

Further, Yadav said that administration identified these people by running a special campaign since the past three months and now these identified persons would be getting it gifted by the Prime Person.

It is to be recalled that, Modi on December 27 during his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio talk show requested the citizens to remark handicapped persons as ‘Divyang’ as they are equipped with some extra-ordinary talents.
