Lucknow: One more senior Bahujan Samaj Party member, Ayodhya Pal, resigned from the party on Thursday, raising the total number of members who have said good-bye to it in last 24 hours to four.

Two party legislators had quit it on Wednesday and made an announcement in this connection at a rally organised by former BSP leader who has joined the Bhartiya Janta Party, Swami Prasad Maurya. Party chief Mayawati’s security officer who was also a member of the party had too resigned from the party the same day.

Pal , a four -time MLA who has also been a minister, has not given any hint but he may also join the BJP. He was minister in the BSP government. Pal was denied ticket by the party in selection made on Sunday and that is the reason for the resignation, a party spokesman claimed.

He alleged that Pal had faced a disproportionate income case and was also charged with corruption. Pal, however, denied these charges and said he was a victim of a conspiracy hatched by some senior party leaders.
