Jammu: An Indian Army soldier was martyred on Saturday in unprovoked ceasefire violation by Pakistan on the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.

Defence Ministry sources said Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked firing at Indian positions on the Line of Control in Rajouri's Sunderbani sector.

Lance Naik Yogesh Muralidhar Bhadane, 28, was injured. He was taken to a hospital but succumbed to his critical injuries.Indian positions retaliated effectively and strongly.

The braveheart belonged to Maharashtra.

"Lance Naik Yogesh Muralidhar Bhadane was a brave and sincere soldier. The nation will always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty," a defence spokesperson said.
