UP: Single-day Covid jump breaches 12,000-mark, Lucknow tops tally

Uttar Pradesh on Saturday reported its highest single-day spike in coronavirus numbers and for the first time crossed 12,000 new cases.

Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh has broken all records of Covid infection this year. Uttar Pradesh on Saturday reported its highest single-day spike in coronavirus numbers and for the first time crossed 12,000 new cases.

On Saturday, 12,787 new coronas have been found infected in the state, while 48 people have died in the last 24 hours. While in Lucknow , new cases of 4059 corona have been reported in a day. At the same time 23 people have died so far.

Things have worsened in Lucknow's hospitals. On the other hand, in Prayagraj, Varanasi and Kanpur, the graph of Corona is rising rapidly. CM Yogi Adityanath himself has also visited there while ministers are being sent to districts.

Lucknow tops in the list

In Lucknow, 4059 new cases were found in 24 hours while 23 people died. There are now 16990 active cases in Lucknow. After Lucknow, 1460 new cases have come in Prayagraj, two people have died here. There are 6902 active cases here. There have been 983 cases in Varanasi and 706 in Kanpur city. Six people have died in Kanpur. Earlier, 9695 patients were found on Friday, 8490 on eight April and 7103 on 11 September. With this, the total number of infected people in the state has so far been 6,76,739.

Amid a renewed surge in infections prompting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to convene an all-party meet next week on the COVID-19 situation in the state. The chief minister and Governor Anandiben Patel will meet political leaders on April 11, and on the next two days, they will meet mayors and religious leaders to discuss the situation and seek their participation to spread anti-COVID awareness.
