Swaraj slams Naresh Agarwal for unsavoury remark on Jaya
Lucknow: Motormouth leader Naresh Agarwal who joined BJP earlier on Monday immediately received a piece of advice for his unsavoury remark on Jaya Bachchan from none other than senior BJP leader and Foreign Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj.
"Shri Naresh Agarwal has joined Bhartiya Janata Party. He is welcome. However, his comments regarding Jaya Bachhan ji are improper and unacceptable," tweeted Sushma Swaraj.
Earlier in the day, he had delivered an unflattering remark, in an apparent dig at Jaya Bachchan, saying, "I have been compared with those who dance and work in films."
Agarwal was jilted over the actor-turned-politician being proffered over him for the Rajya Sabha nomination by Samajwadi Party.
It is worth mentioning that the terms of six of its Rajya Sabha MPs from Uttar Pradesh is coming to an end, but a major defeat in assembly elections in 2017 means that Akhilesh Yadav can send back only one.
Naresh Agrawal for that one seat was ignored for nominating Jaya Bachchan. Agarwal was so upset with his party leadership that he shifted loyalties to BJP.
