SCARD conducts seminar on Consumer Rights in Lucknow

Lucknow: In order to spread the awareness regarding the Consumer Rights, SCARD (Social Collective Action for Research and Development) organised a seminar in Sheroes Hangout cafe which focused on creating awareness among people.

The seminar was started by SCARD President Vipin Agnihotri, who said that consumers are fooled at every stage, but people do not complain thinking it is not costing them much. In this way, the manipulation of the public increases even more.

Sometimes you do not get right quantity of petrol at the petrol pump, vegetable seller also under weight. Then comes the adulteration part in dairy products like milk and ghee. In an identical way, gold-silver ornaments are also tricked into it. Complaints of such cases should do the trick but majority of consumers would like to remain silent.

Bharat Jyoti, a organisation fighting for the interests of consumers for the past 30 years, also participated in the seminar. Vijaya Acharya, founder president of the institute, said that if the consumer is already aware then the dispute does not arise.
