Newstrack Impact: Cop expelled for misusing surveillance system

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Police on Saturday suspended Gal Shahid police station (Moradabad) SHO Lokendra Pal for misusing the departmental surveillance system for personal purposes.

The news was first reported by newstrack.com on February 24, 2018, which was taken into cognizance by UP Police. After the investigation, the allegations were found true and subsequently the cop has been terminated.

Newstrack.com had claimed, which was later found true by the police department, the police officer used to exploit the departmental surveillance system to keep a watch on his girlfriend, who is also a police officer. The woman is a constable and is posted in Meerut.

The surveillance system has been given to the police department to monitor the activities of criminals and solve the big cases.

Lokendra Pal had met the female constable in a case of a land dispute. After the meeting, he started to force her for meeting. Once when they met, the inspector drugged her and established sexual relations.

He also made MMS of the sexual intercourse and started to threaten the constable of sharing it on social media if she refuses to stop the sexual relationship.

Later, the woman constable thought of getting married to get rid of the torture of the inspector. But this trick did not work for her as the inspector fetched the contact number of the groom and threatened him not to marry her.

He used the surveillance system to solve his purpose and repeated it many times.
