Inhumanity at its best; Man rapes daughter with two friends in Sitapur

Sitapur: 'Humanity' is no more a word in the dictionary in the lustful people of India as there are a few who have forgot that a father is supposed to be the protector and not the rapist of his own daughter.

Yes, in a similar incident which will give you goosebumps for years, a man allegedly offered his 35-year-old daughter to his two friends and joined them in raping her in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police has arrested one of the accused while two others are still absconding.

The father, who is believed to be in his late 50s, had taken his daughter to a fair in Kamlapur area of Sitapur on April 15 evening. There he called one of his friends Maan Singh and convinced his daughter to ride on a motorcycle with them.

They took her to the residence of another friend Meraj where they raped and kept her confined for 18 hours. She finally managed to escape from there on Monday morning and immediately rushed to her mother to tell her the entire ordeal. Subsequently, they registered an FIR into the matter.

Taking quick action, police arrested Meraj while the victim's father and Maan Singh are still on the run. As per the police, Maan Singh is a history-sheeter while Meraj is a quack in Kamlapur.

Lamlapur SHO Sanjeet Sonkar confirmed that Meraj's family was not present at the hose when the crime was executed. He is in his early forties.

Sitapur SP Sureshrao A Kulkarni said that the victim was married off 16 years ago but returned to her parents within two years of marriage owing to some tiff with her husband. She is currently living with her 14-year-old son, separated from her parents too.

Earlier in November 2017, the victim's father was banished by the villagers at a paanchayat after he was accused of having an incestuous relationship with his daughter.

"A panchayat was called and the father was arrested. He got bail in February 2018," said Kulkarni.
