Shocking: IAS officer performing Aarti of a politician in Shahjahanpur

Shahjahanpur: In a rather shameful incident, two officers, one being IAS, were caught on camera offering 'prayers' to a former state minister, who is said to be close to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Former Minister of State for Home, Swami Chinmayanand Saraswati celebrated his birthday on Saturday which was attended by several bureaucrats including the District Magistrate.

CDO Sanjeev Singh and ADM Jitendra Kumar Sharma performed Aarti of the BJP leader before the cake cutting ceremony.

The guests present were shocked to see the uninvited gesture of the officers. The entire incident was captured on camera, the video of which went viral on social mediums.

It may be mentioned that Swami Chinmayanand Saraswati is a rape accused former minister and his case is pending in the High Court.
