IAS alright but more known for his music than...
Lucknow: It could be a personal achievement but ironical at the same time that he is more known for his extracurricular activities rather than his basic professional acumen.
This is Dr Hariom, a 1997-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer, who is more popular as a singer rather than an administrative officer, his primary profession.
He has recently launched his fourth music album at a glittering function.
To his more credit are the four music albums instead of any administrative exploits during his tenure as District Magistrate of 11 districts. If there are some, they are not as publicised as his songs ‘Yaara ve' and 'Socha na tha zindagi'.
Among the most noted works in his administrative career spanning over two decades, Dr Hariom had arrested the then Gorakhpur MP Yogi Adityanath (now Chief Minister of UP) in 2007, when he was posted as the DM of the district.
Not only him but his wife Malvika Hariom is also a music enthusiast who was conferred with Rani Lakshmibai Veeratha Award by the previous Samajwadi Party government in the state.
