Senior IAS Devendra Chaudhary prematurely repatriated

New Delhi: The sudden premature repatriation of senior IAS Devendra Chaudhary has given rise to speculation in administrative circles of Uttar Pradesh.

Devendra , the 1981-batch officer, has been repatriated to his parent cadre of UP from his deputation at the Centre. The political and administration circles are rife with the rumours about his possible elevation as the new Chief Secretary of UP replacing Rajive Kumar, also of 1981 batch.

There have been reports of the present Chief Secretary Rajive Kumar might get an assignment at the Centre and the repatriation of Chaudhary fuelled the speculation. There have been unconfirmed reports of Rajive Kumar may be considered for the coveted post of Cabinet Secretary at the Centre but no official indications has been forthcoming in this regard.

The scenario will be clear next week when Chaudhary takes over in Uttar Pradesh.
