Big News: Stanford University to sign MoU with UP govt for Encephalitis control

Lucknow: As a major step towards controlling and prevention of dreaded Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, the Uttar Pradesh government is going to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with famed Stanford University inn California, United States.

A three member high-level delegation led by UP Health Minister Sidharth Nath Singh and Industrial Investment Development Commissioner Anup Chandra Pandey, currently on a week tour to US, agreed on this after a long discussion with Stanford University higher ups on Wednesday.

Speaking to newstrack.com from United States, Sidharth Nath Singh said that the discussion involved Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) research collaboration for finding a vaccine, radiation and cancer biology center, various global outreach programme of Stanford Biodesigns, Biomedical Informatics. "It will help the prevention of JE which had been taking heavy toll of human lives in Gorakhpur and adjoining places in eastern UP for years," he added.

Furthermore, Stanford University will help UP government to develop an affordable sustainable public health services with analytical data centre, he informed.
