Lucknow: Party and celebrations have become a trend in India and not only the teenagers but even the grown ups consider parties as a classy thing. They drink, dance and enjoy a lot but they usually forget about the consequences of all these things.

For girls, going at late night parties or night outs is not considered safe in India. The graph of rape cases in India or actually around the world is increasing in an increasing manner. During parties girls usually trust everybody easily. They believe that all that will happen during parties is just going to be like a Bollywood movie party scenario.

A very few of them know that most of the rape cases happen during this time, at late night parties. The rapists usually use a very rarely known drug 'Rohypnol'. Now you might be wondering what is Rohypnol? Rohypnol is a tranquilizer about ten times more potent than Valium. The drug is available as a white or olive-green pill and is usually sold in the manufacturer’s bubble packaging. Users crush the pills and snort the powder, sprinkle it on marijuana and smoke it, dissolve it in a drink or inject it. This drug is odorless, colourless and tasteless when put in drinks.

It is also known as the 'Date-Rape drug'. Its effects range from drowsiness, forgetfulness, and loss of muscle tone to seizure-like activity, slowed heartbeat and breathing, and coma. The coma lasts one to two hours, with full recovery usually occurring by eight hours. In the date-rape scenario, it is often slipped into an unwitting victim's drink. This drug sterilizes the victim so that she does not conceive from the rape and the rapist need not worry about having his identity revealed later by a paternity test.

The even more worst part is that the drug's side effects are not temporary, they are permanent. Any female who consumes it will never be able to conceive. This drug has an effect on the girl's brain as she won't remember a thing the next morning, nothing that has taken place the night before she wakes up.

These drugs are illegal in US, a person can get this drug easily from anyone who is in the vet school or any medical university.

So girls, if you go out at parties serve your drink to yourself and don't even taste any other drink if someone else offers you. Keep an eye on what you have ordered and don't ask anyone else to buy you a drink. You know that you can do all of it by yourself.
