Simple recipe to make PICTURE PERFECT Panna Cotta at home

Panna Cotta is basically, an Italian custard and means “cooked cream” in Italian. It is made with easily available everyday ingredients like sugar, cream, etc. and has a rich and silky texture. It has a bouncy consistency that is achieved with the help of gelatin.

Gelatin helps in setting the panna cotta and is, therefore, an essential ingredient in the dish. Follow this easy 5-step recipe to make delicious and light panna cotta at home and indulge in some Italian goodness.

Step 1

Pour 1 ½ cup milk in a pan and sprinkle 3 tsp powdered gelatin on top in a single layer. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until the grains look dissolved and wet.

Step 2

Put the pan on a medium flame and keep whisking it to dissolve and soften the gelatin. Once the gelatin is dissolved, add ½ cup white sugar to the pan and keep on stirring.

Step 3

In a bowl, mix 1 cup heavy cream, 1 tsp vanilla extract and some salt. Add the milk and gelatin mixture to the bowl.

Step 4

Pour this batter into ramekins and refrigerate for 4-5 hours or overnight to make sure the panna cotta is properly set and can be easily unmoulded the next day.
