Mumbai: Mumbai Indians (MI) bowlers pulled out a great effort to restrict an injury-marred Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to a small total of 118 all out in 18.4 overs in Indian Premier League (IPL 2018) at the Wankhede Stadium here on Tuesday.

Shikhar Dhawan returned to the squad after recovering from the knee injury and soon got hit on the knee trying to drive a speeding delivery by Mitchell McClenaghan. He looked a little off colour in his 6-ball inning and finally was bowled by the same bowler in the same over. He added 5 runs with a four.

Skipper Kane Williamson was looking in fine touch in his 29-run inning which came off 21 balls and was laced with 5 flourishing fours. But he also lost his wicket under pressure of consistent fall of wickets at the other end.

Wriddhiman Saha (0 off 2) threw away his wicket trying to chase a very wide delivery. Manish Pandey (16 off 11, 3 fours) was the next batsman to gift his wicket to the opposition. He also drove a very wide delivery right into the hands of MI captain Rohit Sharma.

Shakib Al Hasan (2 off 4) fell prey to a misunderstanding while running between the wickets and Suryakumar Yadav was very accurate in knocking off the stumps. Yusuf Pathan held his nerves till the end of the inning and was the last batsman to depart. He added 29 runs off 33 balls and smashed 2 fours and a six.

Mohammad Nabi, who was given his first match in IPL 2018, scored 14 runs off 10 balls with 2 fours. Rashid Khan, who showed some fireworks in the previous match, departed cheaply after adding just 6 runs off 9 balls.

Basil Thampi was cleaned up by Mayank Markande at the individual score of 3 runs off 6 balls. Siddharth Kaul also got run out after scoring 2 runs off 9 balls, while Sandeep Sharma remained unbeaten without opening his account of the only ball he faced.

Mitchell McChenaghan bowled three overs and went for 22 runs and picked up two early wickets which broke the spine of SRH batting. Hardik Pandya also plucked two wickets for 20 runs in 3 overs. Mayank Markande was once again impressive picking up two scalps for only 15 runs in three overs. Jasprit Bumrah (1/25, 4 overs) and Mustafizur Rahman (1/18, 3.4 overs) also managed to pick up a wicket each.

It should be a cakewalk for Mumbai Indians to chase down almost run-a-ball target of 119 runs at their home turf. SRH, however, has a great bowling unit defend this target.
