New Delhi: A revamped Delhi Daredevils (DD) managed to keep a Chris Gayle-less Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) to a small total of 143/8 at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground here on Monday.

Aaron Finch, who was brought in as the replacement of injured Gayle and was promoted as the opener, failed once again and got out at 2 runs off 4 balls. Lokesh Rahul was once again looking in great touch but departed after adding 19 runs off 9 balls with 3 fours and a six.

Liam Plunkett who was playing his first game for DD bowled a magnificent spell giving away only 17 runs off four overs and picking up 3 wickets. His spell broke the spine of the KXIP batting which is considered the most dangerous batting side in the tournament.

Amit Mishra, however, remained wicket-less today and conceded 33 runs in 4 overs.

Delhi batsmen just need to play sensible Cricket to chase down a modest 144-run target on a flat Delhi wicket.
