Bengaluru: The day belonged to 23-year old Sanju Samson who almost single-handedly kept Royal Challengers Bangalore on back-foot throughout the game. RR thumped Virat Kohl-led RCB by 19 runs at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Indian Premier League match here on Sunday.

Chasing the huge 218-run target, RCB ended at 198/6 after 20 overs.

Sanju Samson hammered an unbeaten 45-ball 92-run which took Rajasthan Royals to a mammoth total of 217 runs. He clobbered 10-sixes and a four in his blitzy knock.

RCB did not get a desired start with dangerous Brendon McCullum (4) departing in the very first over. The way Virat Kohli and Q de Kock batted, it looked as duo will take the game off from RR.

The solid partnership broke with the dismissal of Kock at 26. He hit four fours in his 19-ball inning.

Virat Kohli played a warrior scoring 57 off just 30 deliveries. He hit seven fours and two sixes in his eye-catchy knock.AB de Villiers failed to create any impact and departed after scoring 20 off 18 balls.

Mandeep Singh and Washington Sundar shown some hands at the end but they were too late to their execution. Sundar got out after playing 19-ball 35-run knock. He hit three biggies and a four in his handy knock.

Mandeep remained unbeaten at 47. He took just 25 balls in his six-four and a six laced knock.

After being put to bat, captain Ajinkya Rahane provided a decent start to the side. He scored 20-ball 36-run inning. D Arcy Short was once again a failure for RR as departed after scoring 11 off 17 balls.

Samson came as a nightmare for RCB bowlers, hitting them to almost every corner of the ground.

Ben Stokes did not batted to his name and went back to the dug-out at 27. His 21-ball knock was studded with two fours and a six. Jos Buttler played a fiery 14-ball 23-run cameo before Rahul Tripathi (14) ended things on a high note.
