IPL 11 MI vs CSK: Krunals rapid 41 carries Mumbai Indians to 165

Mumbai: The combine effort of Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Krunal Pandya carried Mumbai Indians to 165/4 against Chennai Super Kings in the opener of the eleventh edition of Indian Premier League at the Wankhede stadium here on Saturday.

After being put to bat, MI did not get the desired start as lost Evin Lewis (O) very early. Captain Rohit Sharma, who started his inning on a slow note, also got dismissed at 15.

Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav made sterling efforts in the middle and shared crucial 78-run stand.

Ishan-Suryakumar blossomed and spiked the run flow. Kishan scored 40 off 29 with four boundaries and a six. Yadav played a rapid 29-ball 43-run knock with six fours and a biggie.

Krunal Pandya along with his brother-in-crime Hardik Pandya shared 52-run stand, with former doing all the major hitting. Hardik struggled throughout his 20-ball 22-run knock,

Krunal remained unbeaten at 41 in just 22 balls. His rapid knock was laced with five fours and two sixes.

For CSK, Shane Watson was the leading wicket-taker with 2/29 bowling figures. Deepak Chahar also impressed, giving just 14 runs off three overs.
