New Delhi: Holi is celebrated on the next day of the full moon of Phalgun month every year. Holi is celebrated all over the world with joy. On this occasion, people color each other. Holi, a festival of colors, will be celebrated across the country on 29 March. Holika Dahan is a day before that i.e. on Sunday 28 March. However, it is known by many names in different cities of the country.

Fagua:

The people of Assam call Holi as Fagua and it is celebrated for two days. On this occasion, they burn the hut made of clay. Holi is celebrated the next day. Holi is celebrated in Bihar and Jharkhand for two days. The locals call Holi as Fagua. Playing Holi in Bihar begins with Vasant Panchami.

Ukkuli:

Holi in Goa is called Ukkuli This festival is celebrated continuously for one month during the spring days. Many cultural programs are organized on this occasion.

Hola Mahalla:

Holi is called Hola Mahalla in Sikhism. Guru Govind Singh named Holi as Hola Mahalla. On this occasion, followers of Sikhism remember Guru Govind Singh and try to follow in his footsteps.

Lathmaar Holi:

There is a legislation to celebrate Lathmar Holi in Uttar Pradesh. On this occasion, women beat men with sticks. Especially in Barsane, Lathmar Holi is celebrated with pomp. Barsana is the birthplace of Radha Rani.

Dol Jatra:

In West Bengal, people celebrate Dol Jatra on the occasion of spring. Holi is called the spring festival in Bengal. On this day, women wear traditional saris and worship Radha Krishna ji. After this, the Dol Jatra is extracted. A large number of people take part in this journey.
