New Delhi: With Indian Premier League 2018 auction to take place on January 28, franchises will have to submit the names of the three players they want to retain on Thursday.

Additionally, teams will get Right to Match (RTM) card to keep their two more players in their kitty.

With cricketers like MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are the fixed names to be retained, we bring you the likely to be retained players from IPL franchises.

Chennai Super Kings:

The Kings have decided to keep faith in Mahendra Singh Dhoni as skipper. The other two players in the fray are Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja. CSK is likely to retain Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo via RTM card.

Mumbai Indians:

With Rohit Sharma being the automatic retenion, team has decided to keep Pandya brothers (Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya) in its scheme of things. The side is expected to buy back Kieron Pollard and Jasprit Bumrah with the Right To Match cards.

"Skipper Rohit Sharma is an automatic retention having led the team to three IPL titles. Hardik Pandya is one of the big match-winners and the interesting third retention would be Krunal Pandya," a senior BCCI official in the know of things said.

"Krunal being an uncapped Indian can be retained for only Rs 3 crore instead of Rs 7 crore for third capped player. Also Krunal was an exceptional performer last year," he added.

Sunrisers Hyderabad:

The names of David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan are must retentions. Bhuvneshwar Kumar could be the third name in the list.

Rajasthan Royals:

Australian skipper Steve Smith, after captaining Rising Pune Supergiants, will be back in the blue. James Faulkner and Ajunkya Rahane are the other two players who are likely to be kept.

Delhi Daredevils:

The side relied on young guns in 2017 edition and in the lines of the same, Delhi is expected to retain Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer.

Royal Challengers Bangalore:

RCB is likely to go with the likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle while Shane Watson and KL Rahul could be kept via RTM card.

Kolkata Knight Riders

In the lines of some good form of Gautam Gambhir in domestic games, KKR will look tor retain skipper Gautam Gambhir. Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine could be the other two names.

Kings XI Punjab

They can let go everybody and will try to build a new team as the side has remained an inconsistent one. There will be names of Hashim Amla, David Miller, Axar Patel and Glenn Maxwell if team decides to keep players.
