In the summer, treating yourself to a chilled drink feels divine, and if you have some spare time on your hands, why not start making some homemade desi summer drinks to beat the heat? Nothing beats refreshing summer drinks made with natural ingredients, which are a perfect way to keep us energised during the long days of summer. Let's get our summer started with these mouthwatering drinks, which range from sharbats to homemade buttermilk and more. Mint, lemon, cumin seeds, curd, and other cooling ingredients are excellent choices for the summer. So, to help you out, we've compiled a list of 5 amazing desi summer drink recipes that are ideal for beating the heat.

1. CHAAS: These natural and refreshing beverages are perfect for the summer months. 2 cups plain curd, 2 green chillies, a small bunch of coriander leaves, 4 curry leaves, 1 tsp rock salt or black salt, and regular salt to taste are needed for this recipe. In a blender, combine all of the ingredients for the curd, then dump it into a vessel and add two cups of cooled water. It's ready to eat after a few hours in the refrigerator.


2. SHIKANJI: Lemon is a welcome addition to every meal. Lemonades are the most common drink as summer approaches. It's incredibly tasty and easy to prepare. All you have to do is take one or two whole lemons, add some sugar to taste, and some water. Combine all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and refrigerate for a few hours. You may also add some crushed mint leaves and ice cubes for added flavour.


3. PUDINA SHARBAT: Pudina is well-known for its calming and relaxing properties, and the best way to incorporate it into your diet is through summer drinks. 1 bunch fresh mint leaves, 5 cups water, 1 cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon lemon are needed for this recipe. Combine all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl. If desired, some ice can be added. This makes 6 glasses to serve.


4. SATTU SHARBAT: One of the most nutrient-dense and delectable drinks of all time has arrived to brighten up our summer. 1.5 litres chilled water, 6 tablespoons sattu (roasted black chickpea flour), 4 to 6 tablespoons regular sugar or jaggery-add to taste, and 1/4 teaspoon black salt or 2 to 3 pinches black salt as needed are required for this recipe.


5. ROOHAFZA SHARBAT: The most famous and simple to make drink is ideal for our summer gathering. It's delicious. To make this recipe, combine sugar, water, and rooh-afza in a jar and mix well. To enhance the flavour, add some lemon and black salt. Once you've mixed all of the ingredients together, add some ice cubes to make a refreshing cocktail.
