Yogi ji, please don't be shy of Uttar Pradesh media

Lucknow: Is Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wary of taking media questions ala former CM Mayawati.

Yogi may have given a couple of individual interviews but when it comes to press conferences or public functions, he normally avoids replying to media queries. A lot is being said about the 'one-way' press conferences of Mayawati but Yogi seems to be following the same path.

The latest example was the official conference of UP CM convened to give out report card of completion of 100 days of his government. The conference was limited to his address to highlight the 100-day achievements of BJP government in UP as he refused to take questions from the media. He left the venue in a huff without interacting with the media which was called by his only.

Yogi has appointed two official spokesmen

It is true that Yogi, immediately after his first cabinet meeting, appointed two spokespersons of his government namely Srikant Sharma and Sidharth Nath Singh, also the ministers in UP.

They are responsible for addressing the media but only when the government has to highlight something. It also remains to be a one-sided affair and spokespersons are normally inaccessible to most of the mediamen.

Yogi is following Modi!

It could be due to directions of the central high command to keep awat from the media or simply he is following the footstep of Modi.

It is for everyone to see that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not addressed a single formal press conference since he took over three years ago.

Yogi on Social Media

Yogi Adityanath has ,however, his presence on social media platforms like twitter and he is quite active on those. Again, twitter is a single-way medium where you are not liable to responding every time.

Selective Media

Yogi's publicity machinery has access to handful of media persons only

One phenomenon is which has been noticed that the publicity planners of Yogi have allowed some selected mediapersons to have access to government functionaries.
