Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday chaired the state cabinet meeting wherein he took several important decisions. In one of the major decisions, Yogi Adityanath government has increased the retirement age of doctors to 62 years in order to deal with the shortage of doctors.

In Uttar Pradesh, about 18382 posts of doctors are approved but at least 7327 posts are still vacant. In an attempt to avoid the backlog of doctors, the retirement age has been enhanced. Following the same, the vacant posts will be filled.

In another decision, UP government has approved the mining policy of 2017. The state government passed four proposals in its cabinet meeting.

UP minister Satish Mahana said that the name of Samajwadi Express has been changed to Purvanchal Express. Apart from it, due to the fact that only 40 percent of the land was acquired under the scheme, no tender was given extension, so all the tender has been automatically cancelled.

The state government will acquire the land first. The expressway from Lucknow to Ballia will now also be connected with Ayodhya and Varanasi.
