Yogi Adityanath takes oath as 22nd Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath sworn-in as the 22nd Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. He took the oath of office and secrecy along with two Deputy Chief Ministers, namely, Dinesh Sharma, Keshav Prasad Maurya and a council of 44 ministers.

Governor Ram Naik administered him the oath at an impressive ceremony in a sprawling Smriti Upwan ground, attended by among others the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President Amit Shah and senior party leader LK Advani.

A galaxy of prominent leaders who were present on the occasion included Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, former CM Akhilesh Yadav, Uma Bharti, Vasundhara Raje, Nitin Gadkari, Manohar Parrikar and others.

Yogi Adityanath will hold first cabinet meeting of his government at 1700 hours in which the decision of farmers loan waiver is likely to be taken. The party had already announced to implement loan waiver scheme in the first cabinet meeting.
