The announcement over 24-hour electricity in the villages and cheaper power tariffs was expected in the first cabinet meet but no decision has been taken in this regard.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while campaigning in the state during assembly polls, had promised that farmers’ loans would be waived off in the first cabinet meeting of the state. This apparently is the reason why the meeting was delayed.

The finance department has now prepared the plan for giving the sigh of relief to the farmers. The waived off amount will be paid to the banks by the state government.
