Voice of rebellion in Yogi govt as UP minister threatens to resign

Lucknow: There is a voice of rebellion for the first time in Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government as UP cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has threatened to resign if his demands are not met till July 4.

He said he will also stage a dharna from July 4 in protest over the same.

The Minister of Department of Backward Classes Welfare also criticised Yogi Adityanath's way of working and his inability to put a check on corruption.

“The state government has not taken any action against corrupt officials. The bureaucrats do not listen to ministers. People of the state had expected things would improve after the change of guard. Unfortunately nothing has changed,” he said.

Launching a scathing attack on the bureaucrats of Uttar Pradesh, Rajbhar said that bureaucrats are not paying heed to the complaints of commoners and state government has remained unmoved to put a check on them.

Blaming district magistrate of Ghazipur, he said Sanjay Kumar Khatri is working as an agent of Samajwadi Party. Rajbhar said that DM himself said that just like SP, Bharatiya Janata Party will not be able to remove him.

Describing the DM as corrupt, he said, "I am upset that my demand regarding his removal was ignored."
