Uttar Pradesh to undertake major police recruitment soon

Lucknow: In a rather shameful incident, definitely unbecoming of senior IPS officers, two Uttar Pradesh police officials indulged in a verbal spat during the security briefing meeting ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit.

According to the highly placed sources, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Lucknow Deepak Kumar had some serious altercation with SP Special Investigation Team (SIT) Nageshwar Singh in full view of the subordinates who were sitting there in the briefing.

The brawl erupted after SP SIT raised objection over late arrival of Lucknow SSP who arrived at the meeting venue at 6.30 pm instead of the scheduled time of 5 pm. The meeting was held at Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar University campus.

When SP SIT expressed displeasure over SSP's late arrival, the latter said, "You can leave if you don’t want to do your duty." Replying back, Singh said he would leave the venue only on the direction of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG).

Sensing the mood of SP, SIT and other officers, Deepak Kumar tried to drop the issue and proceeded with the meeting but it was seen in the bad light how two seniors behaved in front of the juniors.
