UP government to become Annapoorna for poor labourers of the state
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has added one more feather to his cap. After initiating projects like Anti-Romeo squad, Swachta Abhiyan and Farmers' loan waiver in the state, the UP CM has now decided to show his sensitive side to the poor of the state.
The Uttar Pradesh government has started an initiative to fill the stomach of the poor labourers of the state. The state will soon have a canteen for these labourers that will provide food to them in three and five rupees.
Named as 'Annapoorna Yojna', this project has been started on guidelines of the 'Amma canteen' project started by the Tamil Nadu government.
The canteen will provide breakfast to the daily wage workers in Rs three and the lunch and dinner in Rs 5.
- According to the officials, the Principal Secretary has reviewd the presentation regarding the scheme and the UP Chief Minister will himself see the presentation on April 12.
- Under this scheme, the poor labourers will be provided a three-time meal including breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- The breakfast will include Dalia, Idli Sambhar, Poha and Pakoras with Tea, while the menu of lunch and dinner will have Chapatis with seasonal vegetable curry, Arhar Dal and rice.
- Annapoorna canteen will be opened in every Nagar Nigam of the state and all those places where the number of daily wage workers is large.
