Ghazipur: In what looks like blatant use of power and position, Uttar Pradesh tourism minister Om Prakash Singh in a telephonic conversation threatened Ram Prakash Kushwaha, husband of a block pramukh candidate.

Using abusive language ( tape of which is available with www.newztrack.com’ ), the minister, in an obvious favor of Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Rama Shankar, asked him to withdraw her wife's candidature from Bhadaura block of Ghazipur district or face consequences.

Om Prakash Singh, considered to be of a strongman of SP, is elected member of UP assembly from Jamaania constituency of Ghazipur.

Meanwhile, the District Magistarte of Ghazipur Ashok Chandra, surprisingly, feigned ignorance about the incident but Ram Prakash Kushwaha told "newstrack.com that Block Development Officer (BDO) has refused to give her wife 'no dues' certificate, necessary to file nominations.
