Who has better DNA? UP IPS vs IAS war reaches new low

Lucknow: The recent spat between the IAS and IPS associations has reached the crescendo when the latter termed its DNA better, after winning a Cricket match against the former.

A tweet from the IPS Association fuelled the recent controversy to level next. The tweet reads, "We did it again! UP IPS Cricket team registered a comprehensive win against UP IAS team. #IAS XI scored 144 in 20 overs setting for us a modest target, which IPS XI made in just 14 overs & after losing only one wocket. True our DNA, we're good. Period."

In reply to the tweet from the IPS Association, the IAS fraternity said, "Congratulations. Well deserved. DNA is good - always. Let's not a friendly Cricket match turn into a DNA test."

In a bid to end the intensifying battle, IPS Association Secretary and IG ATS Aseem Arun has ruled out any brawl between the IAS and IPS associations of Uttar Pradesh and appealed CIPSA to delete the 'controversial' tweet.

"A game is a game and we play it in that spirit," said Arun, adding, "Further, there is no tussle between IAS-IPS in UP. There are issues of how we can provide better law and order and the two services are working together for it."

"UP IPS Association requests CIPSA to remove/edit it's recent post on the subject," he concluded.

The two cadres met on a friendly turf during the annual Cricket match between IAS XI and IPS XI which was played at the Ekana International Stadium in the capital city on Saturday.

The brawl had erupted after Chief Secretary Rajive Kumar had passed an order on December 11 that the monthly law and order meetings across the state will be chaired by District Magistrates. The decision had largely offended the IPS Association which had immediately called for a meeting. The meeting, however, was cancelled later.
