UP IAS bureaucracy lost its sheen ?? Right or wrong ??

Lucknow: Is there any dearth of good IAS officers in the state? It looks so because the Uttar Pradesh government has sent requisition to the Centre for about 12 senior officers.

Confirming the Yogi government has sent a letter to the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) asking it to repatriate these officers of Uttar Pradesh cadre who are currently on deputation, an official spokesman said.

It is going to to be a worthwhile step on part of the state government as all these officers are considered to be of high integrity and efficiency. As Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath put it the government has very little time to deliver and for that he requires highly competent bureaucracy.

The officers who have been requisitioned included Alok Tandon (1986), Sanjay Bhoosreddy (1989), Devesh Chaturvedi(1989), Narendra Bhushan (1992) , Anurag Srivastava (1992), Alok Kumar (1993) , Prashant Trivedi (1989). It may be recalled that Avnish Awasthi of 1987 batch has already come back to parent state and joined as Principal Secretary of Information, Tourism and Religious affairs departments.

It is also to be understood that the highly politicised bureaucracy of UP has posed a problem or two for Yogi as most of the current lot of officers have loyalties with the parties which ruled the state in the immediate past.
