UP Govt. responsible for Jawaharbagh violence, says Saraswati

Lalitpur: Dwaraka-Sharda Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati has held the Samajwadi Party (SP) government of Uttar Pradesh responsible for Jawaharbagh violence at Mathura and called a it a government "failure".

“The caste politics in the Uttar Pradesh had played a major part in the incident. The one who encroached illegally was a Yadav while the one ruling in state is also Yadav. No action was taken because it was Yadav-Versus- Yadav,” said Swaroopanand Saraswati during his shor trip to Lalitpur.

Opposition reacts:

Opposition too has taken up this issue and they are holding the Akhilesh Yadav led Uttar Pradesh government responsible for it.

During a recent visit to Kanpur, the Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah said that there was not law and order in Uttar Pradesh and had also demanded the resignation of senior Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav.

Demands CBI probe:

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the incident.
