UP ATS arrested 11 suspected ISI men; kingpin arrested from Delhi

Lucknow: In a big crack down ahead of UP Polls, the Uttar Pradesh Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS), in a joint operation with the Military Intelligence, arrested 11 suspected ISI men from Delhi and parts of Uttar Pradesh.

The chief conspirator, identified as Gulshan Sen, was arrested from Delhi's Mehrauli and other 10 people have been arrested from different parts of UP.

Gushan was produced before the remand magistrate in Lucknow on Thursday. He, along with his four other associates, will be taken in remand for interrogation on Friday.

ATS and TERM Cell will try collect information about the calls to India from abroad, server, internet connection and their usage. They will also try to find the way these men were using to bring money from abroad to India.

In the initial interrogation, it has been revealed that Gulshan has gone to Afghanistan twice and has stayed there for five years. He was working there as an IT expert in a US-based company which supplies goods to US Army.

A few more agencies will interrogate him about his Afghan connection, said the ATS sources.

ATS sources further added that the men were hired by ISI to track the movements of military troops, deployment and army installations.

The intelligence sources spied them by using their mobile numbers with Direct Inward Dialling Network.

More arrests are expected in this regard in near future.
