Lucknow: The BJP President Amit Shah and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will kick off party's 2017 poll campaign in Uttar Pradesh with a rally to be held near Hanuman Setu on April 3 next.

The Union Home minister Rajnath Singh is on a three-day visit to his parliamentary constituency Lucknow form April 1 to make the rally a grand success.

Rajnath will reach Lucknow on April 1 at around 1800 hours and is scheduled to attend many programmes of the party. He will also address a ‘Adhikar Dilao Rally’ on April 3, which is believed that it will be the start of election campaign of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in UP.

Rajnath’s Lucknow engagements:

  • Will reach Lucknow on April 1 and will go to condolence meeting of former UP BJP general secretary Vindhyavasini Kumar.
  • Will meet party workers at his official resident at around 2000 hours.
  • Is scheduled to attend a ‘Holi Milan Samaroh’ on April 2 at city bus stand.
  • Will pay tribute to the chairman of Shia personal law board Mohammad Athar at Bara Imambara at 1030 hours on April 3.

The Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and Union Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha will attend the centenary function of Mahamana School in Lucknow on April 3.
