Adelaide, Indian cricket team on Tuesday celebrated the Republic Day by defeating Australia in the first T-20 match against kangaroos on Australia Day.

Australian team chasing the target of 189 runs collapsed at 151 runs in 19.3 overs. Indian pacer Jasprit Bhumrah took the precious wicket of Australian batsmen David Warner at his individual score of 17 runs.

Team India scored 188 runs in the short format game and in-form batsman Virat Kohli played a magnificent innings of 90 runs in just 32 balls with six boundaries and a six. It was Virat’s 10 fifty in the T-20 cricket format. Rohit Sharma also scored 31 runs in just 20 balls but his opening partner Sikhar Dhawan could not do well and scored just 5 runs.

It may be recalled that Indian Cricket team lost the one-day series against Australia by 4-1.
