Suspended IPS Amitabh Thakur sits on Dharna in front of CM house

Lucknow: Suspended Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Amitabh Thakur is staging a dharna in front of Chief Ministers resident in Lucknow on Thursday against reinstating Deputy Inspector General (DIG) D K Chaudhary within 15 days of suspension.

Chaudhary was suspended for slapping an elderly vendor in Amrapali on February 24 last.

Thakur's version:

Thakur, while taking to pressmen said that he was being harassed by the Uttar Pradesh government and his suspension has also not been reinstated since the last eight months.

"I was suspended for raising my voice against Samajwadi Party (SP) Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav while Chaudhary has been reinstated within 15 days which shows that government is discriminating with me," he adds.
