Will conduct a surgical strike in UP against cow slaughterers: Yogi Adityanath

Shahjahanpur/Barabanki: Fire-brand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Yogi Adityanath, on Monday claimed that another surgical strike will be conducted in Uttar Pradesh against people indulged in cow slaughter and rioters.

The BJP parliamentarian, who addressed two back to back rallies here, said, "As our Army carried out a surgical strike against Pakistan, we will conduct another one in Uttar Pradesh. But this strike will be aimed at cow protection and tackling with the rioters."

Commenting on the pre-poll alliance between Samajwadi Party and Congress, Yogi said SP was clearly seeing its defeat in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. Hence, they decided to join hands with Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi who has not led his party to a single victory since joining politics."

He claimed that Congress got finished from every place where Rahul Gandhi went to promote it.

Lashing out at both the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for playing caste and communal politics in the state, he said, "These parties claim to be messiah of the poor and Muslims. It is a false claim. In fact they have only tried to help certain castes and groups and neglected all others.”

During the address, the BJP member of the Lok Sabha sounded bitterer against Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati. He charged her with amassing huge wealth during her tenure as chief minister and over-spending public money on her party symbols and her own statues.

Both the parties have provided only lip-service to the Muslims and used them as a vote-bank for their own gains. As far as the SP is concerned, it has helped only one caste - Yadav. “Go to any police station and you will invariably find a Yadav as the head of the station,” he claimed.

Mayawati has provided tickets to a larger number of Muslims in this connection because she wanted to take back power from Akhilesh Yadav and not because she wanted to help the community.

The controversial Yogi has been drafted by the party for campaigning because of his anti-Muslim image. The main purpose was to polarise Hindu voters in favour of the party especially in the western region where there is greater communal divide.

He has been touring the area since the last week of last month to mobilise voters and improve the party’s fortune. “Based on the tour I can say that there is a wind blowing in favour of BJP and that it will get an absolute majority,” the MP claimed.

The constituency along with 66 others will go to polls on Wednesday next.
