UP STF raids call center in Lucknow on terror suspicion
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday carried out a search operation at the Quantum World Call Center at Chinhat locality here on tip-off of some terrorists hiding out at the building.
The UP Police, which was accompanying the STF team, recovered a rifle, two double-barrel guns, ammunition, some number places of vehicles, red and blue beacons and some photo and ID proofs. It is being said that the recovered weapons were licensed.
After getting the information, the call center was soon surrounded by ADG Zone Abhay Kumar Prasad, DIG STF and SSP Lucknow along with the STF team.
According to the sources, the building is owned by Rakesh Srivastava.
The police and STF team launched the search operation very cautiously but found no terrorists there. The search officials left the scene in 15 minutes after launching the search operation.
Speaking over the operation, ADG Law and Order Anand Kumar said, "We found no terrorists at the call center but it was a successful mission. We have recovered number plates of vehicles and red and blue beacons, which clearly indicate towards a conspiracy. We have also recovered weapons and the probe is underway."
