Speeding truck claims eight lives in Bareilly, several injured

Bareilly: Eight persons were killed in a tragic road accident on Pilibhit bypass highway under Izzat Nagar police station on Tuesday, said police.

Around six persons were injured in the accident and were rushed to the hospital. The condition of three of them was stated to be critical.

The accident:

• Four people were killed on the spot while rest succumbed in the hospital.
• Truck driver was caught by the locals and handed to police.
• He was driving the truck in inebriated condition.
