SP to form an alliance with RLD; Ajit Singh to go Rajya Sabha

Lucknow: The ruling Samajwadi Party is inching closer to forming some sort of an alliance with the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) for the ensuing 2017 Assembly elections. Senior SP leader Shivpal Singh Yadav and the RLD Chief Ajit Singh reportedly held a closed door meeting In Delhi on Sunday. It is decided that the SP will support the candidature of Ajit Singh for Rajya Sabha.

Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Shivpal Singh Yadav and Amar Singh have been given the responsibility to work out the formalities of the pact between the two parties. The Samajwadi Party has also agreed to share 40-50 seats with Ajit Singh's RLD in the Western Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier, on May 18, newztrack.com had reported first that there will be an alliance between SP and RLD.
