Lucknow: The political circles of Lucknow are rife with rumours that about 20 MLAs of Bhaujan Samaj Party are siding with Swami Prasad Maurya who may join Samajwadi Party or Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) along with them after parting ways with the Mayawati's party.

A large number of MLAs and his supporters gathered at his residence in a late night development as sources close to Maurya claim he had been receiving phone calls from the leaders of both the parties.Sources claimed that while he was in touch with both the parties, he had been offered good position in the saffron party.

The Gomti Nagar residence of the former BSP leader and also the leader of opposition in the state assembly was abuzz with activities what his supporters claim it to be a show of strength. If the sources are to be believed ,the firebrand UP minister Mohammad Azam Khan also called him and congratulated for resigning from the party and even asked his further plans.

Mayawati, in her hurriedly called press conference last afternoon, had claimed that Maurya shared good equations with SP President Mulayam Singh Yadav and other party leaders.

Maurya, who is in touch with 20 plus BSP MLAs seems to be dilemma after receiving telephone call from one of the senior UP BJP leaders who had proposed him for joining the party and had even offered a good position in the party, said a person close to Maurya.

It is pertinent to mention that BJP is already trying to balance the caste equations ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2017 with and aim to en-cash the backward and Dalit votes.
