Samajwadi government to offer a new sop to people before election

Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party government which had distributed laptops after coming to power more than four years ago ,will provide smart phones to the people on the eve of the next assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Positive result of the laptop scheme is the reason behind the new scheme the on line registration for which will start within a month, official sources said here on Monday.

The scheme will facilitate two-way communication, between the government and the people. This will make people aware of the new projects and proposals it has in mind and help the government get feedback from them.

These phones will have the latest features and provide information on different fields including market. They will provide information regarding modern technologies, prices fetched by different commodities , movement of clouds and new products available in the market.

Selection process

Selection will be transparent. Phone will be sent to on-line selected persons at their home addresses. Every possible effort will be made to eliminate corruption and the middle-men. Those who have acquired high-school degrees will only qualify for selection. The age limit: not less than 18 years. Government employees have been kept out. Wards of government employees will not qualify for the scheme.

Other conditions

Those working in private sector whose family income does not cross Rs two lakh annually can also apply for the smart phones.

Distribution of smart phone will start from the second half of next year on the first come first served basis.
